Getting Your First Dogs

You can get dogs for your kennel by buying dogs from other users, by breeding your own or selecting your starter dogs. If you are a basic member, don’t forget that you only get unlimited breeding for your first month. Make it count!

Keep in mind that even the highest quality starter dog will not be as good as a current generation dog from an established breeder. Because of this, starters almost never finish (earn a championship) and will not produce show quality puppies. It's best to buy your first dogs from a breeder and offer to make starter dogs on the Dogs for Sale forum. Sometimes established breeders want starter dogs to introduce lost colors or traits into their bloodlines.

When you first select your starter dogs, you have a certain amount of quality to use on them. How you distribute this is up to you. If you select the same level of quality for all of your dogs, then you will end up with all around mediocre dogs. If you select one of your dogs to have a high quality and the rest to have low quality, then you may end up with one decent dogs but the rest will usually be fairly bad. How you decide to select your starter dogs is entirely up to you!
