Welcome to Royal Meadows Kennel. I've been active on ShowDog for over five years and I've been involved with Chow Chows for over 17 years now. I can't imagine a day going by without seeing that sweet face and knowing that under that scowl is one of the most loyal and loving animals a person could ever have the opportunity of being around. My chow Renegade (aka Hunts Simple Twist of Fate) is my partner in crime and my best friend in the world. He knows me better than I know myself at times.
Although I have bred over 300 champions at Royal Meadows, a few Chow Chows will always have a special place in my heart.
Ch Royal Meadows Splendid
Splendid will forever be remembered as the first Chow Chow to win BEST IN SHOW in the three years that I've been active on ShowDog. This is a milestone for our breed and one that we here at Royal Meadows hope will the first of many to come for our beloved breed of Chow Chows. Splendid finished with 1 BIS, 7 BIG, and 27 BIB, defeating over 8,282 dogs along the way.
Ch Royal Meadows Shenanigan
Shenanigan retired as the number one Chow Chow in Showdog History in April 2006 defeating 3,354 dogs. He had multiple group placings, 67 BIBs, 8 BISSs, and won the January, February, and April BIBs at the Showdog World Cup. He has already began passing his talents on to his offspring...6 of which have already finished their championship.
Ch Royal Meadows Satisfaction
Satisfaction retired on New Years Day 2006 as the top Chow Chow in Showdog history. She defeated 1,751 dogs and finished with 28 BIBs, various Group 2 placings, and several BISS wins as well. She will now hold court in our breeding program.
Ch Royal Meadows Secret
Secret retired the same day as his sister, Satisfaction, following her to the all time ranking of number two. He had 17 BIBs, multiple Group 2 placings, and several BISS as well as defeating 2,248 dogs. He legacy will live on with his offspring Sunset, Solitaire, and Salvation.
Ch Royal Meadows Superstition
Superstition retired as the number four Chow Chow in Showdog history, defeating 2,414 dogs. She quickly became a judge favorite, bringing home multiple group placings, 30 BIBs, and mulitple BISSs.
Ch Royal Meadows Stupendous
Stupendous was a force in the show ring but his true calling was in our breeding program. He produced 23 champion offspring including Showpiece, Sanctuary, Squire, and Best in Show winner Splendid. Without Stupendous, the RMK lineage wouldn't be what it is today.

It is my policy to breed the best Chow Chows I possibly can. My current SOP standard is 95.50 and I send all puppies under that to a happy home with a loving family. I will still maintain a few champions for breeding stock that may fall below that standard because they have either shown a fabulous cycle of offspring or I'm trying to elevate a certain breed trait that they possess.
I do not allow my studs for outside breeding because I am a firm believer in staying true to your own lineage and building up your own traits. I've jumped on the SOP bandwagon in the past and in my opinion, the breed is still lower in certain traits because of the shared lineage. Varied lines with stronger traits will strengthen the breed. And yes, it is possible to do lineage breeding without inbreeding.
Currently, I am not showing any of my animals. My job prevents me from being as active as I once was. I will still do breedings from time to time, but you'll rarely see my dogs in the ring. I plan on maintaining the kennel in hopes of one day returning to the ring full time once things get back to normal.
