Hi all,
There was a website active not too long ago (I actually used it a few months ago) where you could manually enter your dogs' stats and have it pop out a correct SOP number - good for when your dog doesn't have 20 SS. Does anyone know where it disappeared to? I used to be able to google it but not it seems no longer. Cheers for the help in advance Lindsey |

The sop calcs I had don't work anymore, but I've found that doing it myself is way faster. I'll give you some live examples. For every tenth (.1) off 20.0 = add .05 to the SOP For every entire point off 20.0 = add .5 to the SOP Examples (1.) Show shine is 18.0 with a SOP of 94.1. - This dog is two whole points off 20.0 SS. (20.0 SS - 18.0 SS = 2) So, add 1.0 to the SOP. 20.0 - 18.0 = 2.0 2.0 x 0.5 = 1.0 94.1 + 1.0 = 95.1 www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=12780272 (2.) Show shine is 17.9 with a SOP of 95.25. - This dog is two whole points and a tenth off 20.0 SS. (20.0 SS - 17.9 SS = 2.1) So, add 1.05 to the SOP. First step: 2 whole points x 0.5 = 1 to be added to the SOP. Second step: 1 tenth = 0.5 to be added to the SOP. 1 + 0.5 = 1.5 So, 95.25 + 1.5 = 96.75 would be the dog's SOP if it had 20 SS. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13842436 (3.) Show shine is 19.4 with a SOP of 89.35. (20.0 SS - 19.4 SS = .6) - This dog is six tenths off 20.0 SS. So how much do I add for one tenth? .05! So, .05 x 6 = .3 So, I add .3 to the SOP. This dog would be 89.65 if it had 20.0 SS. www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13283174 _______________________________________________ The Steps 1. Minus real SS from 20.0 SS. 2. Add 0.05 to the SOP for every tenth off 20.0 SS. 3. Add 0.5 to the SOP for every whole point of 20.0 SS. SOP is 50 with a SS of 19.5. 1) 20.0 SS - 19.5 SS = 0.5 -- So the dog is 5 tenths off 20. 2) 5 x 0.05 = 0.25 3) Add 0.25 to the SOP. SOP would be 50.25 if the SS was 20. I hope this makes sense! Try looking at some of your dogs and practicing. |

this post has been edited 2 time(s) I use a easier formula that gets the same result. 20-SS then divide the result by 2 and add to current SOP. Example 97.3 with SS of 18.4 20-18.4= 1.6 1.6/2 = .8 97.3 + .8 = 98.1 same as above SOP is 50 with a SS of 19.5 20-19.5 = .5 .5/2 = .25 50 + .25 = 50.25 ----- Last edited by Almost Heaven on 3/5/2015 12:53:51 AM ----- Last edited by Almost Heaven on 3/5/2015 12:56:33 AM |

The easiest version of that formula: 20 - your dogs SS = number/2 = number + your dogs SOP = equals adjusted SOP It takes 2 seconds on a calculator. |
