I've only owned two...

The first one was Koosah, an Airedale... gah, I have so many stories about her! She was a great dog, she was put down a few years back at the age of 14 because of kidney failure.

The one I have now is Jackson, another Airedale. He just turned 3 in June. He's a sweetie, just not as smart as Koosah was... lol. But he's a good boy, very handsome.

My first dog is a Golden Retriever and she is still alive and kicken at the age of 11. She has been a great dog, and is my retired therapy dog (we volunteered at a rehabilitation hospital).

Second dog is a Papillon, and now I am thinking about getting another one within the next year or so!!

Hey people

have you taught your dogs any tricks?
I can get Digger, my dingo X smithfeild red to ballance a Lilly Pilly (that's a fruit that he loves, I know weird) on his nose and not eat it till I say OK.
Plus I had him doing "unnoficial" herding. I can get him to block chooks, geese and goats so that I can catch them. Nobody ever realy taught him that, he just helped when I tried to catch them as a pup, and he'll pick the right animal every time, then stop whan I tell him to. I suppose it's the heeler in him. LOL.
Cuba, the dog we had to put down did all the comands (sit, down, roll over, stay, come etc) plus I did agillity at home with him. He could clear jump a fence that was up to my shoulders, and I'm 5'5".
Dustee's only claim to fame is her speed.

I bet you have dogs who can do cool tricks too
Tell me about them.

My first dog was a two-year old Labrador Retriever named Lucky. My parents got me him when I was 3ish? But boy do I rememberd him. He was tall and slender and more active then we hoped! We got him off a married couple that was getting divorced and after wondered if they abused him because everytime someone came in the house and used a high voice he would hide.

When we got him, he was already two and the couple before us hadn't even trained him! He wasn't potty trained, didn't have leash manners, chased everything!, barked for hours at nothing and if he had one chance to book it, oh believe me, he would... BOOK IT! We brought him to obedience for a while and nothing we did seemed to help, so we sadly, had no choice but to give him away. We gave him to a fireman that lived a couple hours away. It took him TWO years to train him from all his no-no's but today he's a Firehouse dog and rides around with the bravest guys in town.

Then, when I turned 5 was when my parents got me Mason, the cutest buddle of yellow I HAD EVER SEEN! I told all my friends that I had gotten the Cottonelle Toilet Paper puppy, cause thats exactly what he looked like! My current baby boy of 8 years. And he has been a blessing from the start! Easy-to-train, well mannered and all around the sweetest most, best dog I've ever had the curtousy of knowing!

THE END! laugh :D

My mum was recently telling me about an alaskan malamute that we had when i was two, i don't remember her, but mum said that i used to ride her like a horse all the time!
when my little sister was born, we had to move into town so she could go to hospital easily, because she was born 2 1/2 months prem, and we had to sell Kayla.
I remember that my grandma had two cavaleir king charls spanniels, Lady and Cala, they were sisters, and we used to play with them every time we went to visit her. But Cala had so many health problems that she had to be put down, and Lady died a little over a year later.

Keep posting people! it's great hearing about all the dogs that made us all so happy!

Hi - My first dog was a cocker spaniel named casey - I remember she got run over when I was watching play school on tv....must of only been about 4 at the time....she got replaced by an identical dog also named Casey who lived until she was 19.
We also had a St Bernard called Winston who we found but he died about 6 months later.

We got a welsh springer spaniel named megs who is about 12 now.

When I moved in with my fiancee he had a dobermann puppy called Dagda but he passed away before his 6th birthday. We adopted a little rotti called Kuzimir who is now 4 & 1/2 and a great big teddybear - we have now got a little 9 month old dobie called Csilla who we are impatiently waiting for her to grow up a bit!!
We did have a rhodesian ridgeback X bull arab but she was murdered at 7 months old.

So now its just our Kuzzie & Csilla - who we are thinking of breeding - They are both a bit curious about our 10 month old son - they will probably freak out when he starts to crawl and pull thier ears!!

Our first dog was a dalmation/pit bull mix named Jack, my folks brought him home from the breeder the day they brought me home from being born! We grew up together. He was great.
Then we got Patch, he was a champion Standard Lhasa Apso, his owner had died and he and two other dogs were grieving themselves to death over him, so the widow gave them away. She wouldn't give their papers, tho. She didn't want anyone taking them just to make money off of them. Mom had him till he was about 15 yrs old, he was deaf and blind, and his two daughters that my mom had kept would escort him around the yard in the morning so he could do his business.
After that I had Toasty and Chugger, brother and sister from one of Patch's daughters. Had a few pups in the meantime, my favorite was Toto, he was cousin to Toast and Chugg, but he died of parvo at about 13 weeks.
After Toast and Chugg, I had a charcoal gray Chow, we called him Brillo, we gave him away after he killed all my chickens. Then we had Hooch (lab/wiemeraner mix) and FleaLion had no idea what he was, just long haired and gorgeous looked just like a lion.
Then I got Brutus border collie/doberman and Daisy beagle/fox terrier, had them for 10 years, Daisy died just over 2 years ago, and I had to have Brutus put down about 6 months later, he had an enlarged heart, scarring on his lungs (will never have another dog without heartworm prevention!), and severe hip problems.
Now I have Cookie and Cash they are Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mixes.

I've had 12 dogs, but those are just the ones I've owned. My father swears he had at least Thirty Dogs. WE're still fighting about that actually.

My first ever dog taught me how to speak. He was a Pure-bred Doberman Puppy my dad had bought from a friend and was probably one of the best dogs I've ever had. Sadly, Brass passed away early on in his life from a Lung Infection.

I was three when I got my first Pit Bull, a brindle and a rather big one at that. He was my father's own Pit Bull's litter, and after finally being presuaded, I took in the family job of caring and breeding Pit Bulls. He was named Brute because of his looks. But on the inside he was a very sweet dog. His full name was "Gregor's Pride and Glory Jacklyn Wind Chaser Rosary". Yeah, I can't even pronouce that still. He was shot in the head by my neighbor who mistaked him as a Coyote.

My Third, Fourth, and Fifth dogs were the own blood of Brute. Their names were Cole, Cyle, and Cylde or the Three C's. Cole and Cylde were never shown but Cole got into the state finals in Fly-ball and Cylde was a thearpy dog. Cyle followed in his father's show-dog footprints, becoming "Jack Daniel's FDDTP Head in the Clouds" Cole died of old-age though Cyle and Cylde live comfortably in my father's summer ocean house.

My Sixth Dog was a Chow Chow mix. She was found wandering the streets. She was quite un-ladylike and in the end my brother had to teach her some manners. Her name was Dusty and she taught me that determination and will-power were the key to handling dogs. She grew wings and flew off to join Cole, Brute, and Brass.

My seventh and eighth dogs came from a very, very, very unexpected place. I was presented with two squirming packages from my oldest brothers, both being twins and had decided to branch out the business of dog breeding, getting into Whippets and Belgian Shepards. When I opened the packages I was suprized to see not one of their specilaites -- but two beautiful pure-bred White Golden Retrievers. "GHPT Gold Fever Runs Rampid" and "GHPT This River Runs Wild" Affectionaitely known as Darza and Azeri. They still do shows and are still my pets.

My ninth dog was a Mutt Puppy. After adopting him from the local shelter, he was killed from a Snake Bite. His name was Bud.

My tenth dog was a rather big Great Dane named Bug. Bug was a black brindle and white chested Great Dane named for his obbession with Bugs. He lived a good few years before being put down for a spinal cord problem.

My 11th and 12th dogs were from a deserted Brute Line, now carried on and contiminated with My mother's own line of Pit Bulls. These two dogs mother had rejected them after the rest of her pups had been still-born. I at the time had no Pit Bulls to breed so I offered to hand-feed them while my brothers, mother, and father attended to their dogs. Both were natural competitors, standing in their stances naturally and being beautiful. At least I thought. Being Red Sable and Fawn Sable. Their show names were "AFD Kasey's Pride Dancer's Joy" and "AFD Kasey's Love Torrentstorm" known affectionaitely as Bull's Eye and Dreamer. Their the top dogs in my family. -laughes menically-

And that's my dogs. The dogs I still have, if you've forgotten are Cyle, Cylde, Azeri, Darza, Bull's Eye, and Dreamer.

Did you know?
The two largest American dog shows after Westminster are the National Dog Show (which is televised on Thanksgiving Day by NBC, usually after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade) and the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.
