Hi and welcome! In the dog show world, the world “bitch” is used to refer to an intact (not spayed) female dog. So it’s not a bad word here  Sarah |

If i'm remembering correctly, the insult came after the term was used for female dogs. It started getting used as an insult for women comparing them to female dogs. |
