Hi, I am new to Buhunds, and hope I am not being too forward (as I am new to the breed) but thought I might start a thread for discussion between Buhund breeders. My other kennel is in Keeshonds, where we have a thriving communal thread, which has been great.

Please feel free to post anything newsworthy or just plain fun happy :)

Examples:
New high SOP arrivals in the whelping box, new studs being made available, show achievements, colour breeding projects, titles and awards, requests and anything else that strikes your fancy happy :)

And since I stuck my toe in -- I will start....

Have got my first three litters on the ground -- and almost all of the best pups, and the highest SOP, both real and theoretical were black!

Am particularly pleased with this pup - has a SOP of 93.55, with a nice FQ of 8.8.

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13754687

I am currently sessioning 3 pups, 2 males and 1 female, with a view to showing.

Am eagerly awaiting for one young bitch with a theoretical SOP of 93.70 (real SOP - 93.00) to get to breeding age. And many thanks to Trubador*s Kennels for selling her to me (and the others I bought) happy :)

Woops - posted under my other user.

I have one keeshond pup same age and at the same stage of sessioning as one of my Buhunds - Jesse James.

It is interesting comparing progress between the two.
At the moment the Buhund is 16 in show obedience as against 14 for the Keeshond, 12 in muscle tone as against 13 for the Keeshond, and they are both 15 for coat conditioning.

At this stage, it looks like the Buhund puppy will be showing at 20 across the board before the Keeshond puppy.

I am very pleasantly surprised at how quickly the Buhunds session, in everything except muscles.

Congrats on your first points Gypsy. I can't wait to get my pups up to show condition and get them showing.

Nice to see more breeders getting involved.

Noticed that my 10 day pup has just hit 19 in Show obedience, so quick compared to Keesies.

Seem to be having a rash of low show shine. Almost all my best puppy prospects are coming up low show shine, in both Buhunds and Keesies.

Love this one - would have been 93.80 with 20 SS

Love the gait on her.

No new buhund litters for me lately. Taking best of opposite over and over at 2pts a pop tho, isnt bad. But I worry about being able to get a major.

She is nice, will be a good breeding bitch anyway.

We just need more dogs showing, as soon as mine get to show age -- will enter some happy :).
I have two who will be starting next week and one next weekend.

Woops wrong account again *lol*

Thanks happy :)

My two 15 day pups just hit 20 in show obedience, much quicker than Keehonds. These would now be 20 across the board, but for the fact that their mothers were much lower in condition than I normally breed at. So they had lower starting conditions.

HI! Yeah, Resvik and I are in keeshonds together too. We rarely stop talking over there. Decided to see if we could bring the same chatter here. Makes it much more pleasant happy :)

Wow - I am in shock. My first litter from my new boy at stud, Siegers Beyond Magic, bred to a first time girl, Trubador*s Black Diamond.

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13798106
a 94.15 boy

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13798108
a 93.95 girl

Keeping the two above happy :)

Two low SS pups
www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13798107
92.20 girl, would have been 93.90

www.showdog.com/dog.aspx?id=13798109
93.05 boy, would have been 93.65

The two low SS pups are available for sale, any offer accepted.

Update: The bitch is now reserved.

Wow, nice! I'd put in an offer on that low SS girl, but offers are turned off? Hopefully she'll make a nice broodie

Did you know?
A specialty show may be regional or national. A "Best in Show" win at a national specialty show is tremendously prestigious, indicating that the winning dog or bitch triumphed at a contest which attracted entries from the most serious fanciers of that breed in the country or continent. Some specialty shows attract international entries.
